2010 Algonquin Argonauts Cheer & Dance Program
Welcome to the 2010 Algonquin Argonauts Cheer Season! |
The goal of the Algonquin Argonauts Youth Cheerleading program is to provide kids with an opportunity to participate in an organized, supervised and educational spirit program geared at teaching the sport of cheerleading, while emphasizing the values of teamwork, sportsmanship and fitness within a safe and fun environment. No tryouts are ever required and anyone who meets the age and academic guidelines may sign up.
The cheer season officially runs from August 1st through December 31st. Cheer practices will be held 2-4 times per week during weekdays only until school begins and will be held 2-3 times per week once school is in session. Cheerleaders will be cheering at both home and away games on either Saturday or Sunday for an Argonaut football team in the same corresponding division/level. Practices will begin in the first week of August and will be held at Westfield Community School.

Competition & Exhibitions |
The Argos Cheer squads will participate in 1-2 exhibitions/competitions depending on the division/squad. We typically participate in the Pop Warner Mid-America Regional Tiny/Mite Mite Exhibition in early November and also in the Chicagoland Conference Competition in late November. Squads who qualify at the Conference competition may then advance to regional competition and beyond. Those advancing past the conference level will be responsible for funding any associated competition, travel and accessory costs.

2010 Argos Cheer REGISTRATION |
Registration for the 2010 season will begin in January 2010. The registration cost for each participant is $225. The registration fee includes uniform rental and entrance fees for 1-2 exhibitions or competitions depending on the squad level. Purchase of a mandatory cheer accessory package ($75) is also required and will include cheer shoes, a bodyliner/crop top, cheer briefs, socks, one set of pom poms and a hair ribbon. A Pop Warner Cheer Camp is offered in August and participants would be responsible for the camp fee to attend. Complete registration details can be found on our REGISTRATION page. WANTED: Cheer Coaches and Volunteers |
Coaching and volunteer positions are open at all levels. We are actively seeking out volunteers who would like to help out for the 2010 season as a Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Squad Parent. Interested individuals should contact the the Argo Staff at cheer@algonquinargonautsfootball.com and will need to complete a volunteer application.
The ages of all spirit participants in the program shall correspond to the overall ages that the League is permitting for players, unless League rules dictate that the ages of the spirit squad shall correspond to the playing ages of the team with which they are associated.
